Where was the Purple Giraffe?

Where was the Purple Giraffe?

Good question and one we have not been able to solve yet. While waiting for a table at the Old Bank Inn a person was wandering the streets of LeRoy. Seeing his puzzled look, museum board member Peg Golden stopped to help. He was looking for the location of what was once The Purple Giraffe. This person had once played in a band that had performed at LeRoy’s Purple Giraffe. He wasn’t much help with the time period, but some of us have fleeting memories of the business and think it might have been open in the 1965-1975 time period. We think the business might have been open less than a year. Someone suggested it was in the old post office and there was a recreation center located there as this 1967 LeRoy Journal clipping shows. Most think the location was on the north side of the 200 block of Center Street.
Pictures and/or information will be much appreciated and we will keep digging!
